Student Advisory Council

Student Advisory Council

What is it?

The new Indiana University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (IUMAA) aims to better serve the campus workiing closely with a Student Advisory Council comprised of a small group of undergraduate students. Council members meet regularly to develop ways the museum can better engage the campus community through events and the promotion of other student opportunities at IUMAA. Members present their ideas to museum staff before putting them to the test in the museum and around campus. This is a great opportunity to think outside the box, gain real world experience, and create engaging events on campus.

This year the SAC led the IUMAA contribution to the IU Day Block Party celebration. The celebration focused on IU's global connections, and SAC members served samples of coffee from around the globe during the event.

Goals

Promotion

IUMAA has many resources to help the students and staff of IU: research and volunteer opportunities, exhibits, cultural objects. But IUMAA is new and no one knows about them (yet)! Help us get the word out both through social media and word of mouth.

Engagement

IUMAA knows the first step to engaging the IU Campus is to create relevant and interesting experiences. Come tell us what interests you! Is it ancient beer, African dances, Mongolian dice games, or something else entirely? Let us know and be part of making the event come to life.

Join the IUMAA Student Advisory Council!
