Museum Practicum Information for IU Students
What is a practicum?
A practicum is a course in which students get hands-on work experience in their field for course credit. Think about it as an internship, but carrying course credit that counts towards your degree goals.
Practicum at IUMAA
The Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology offers experiential learning for undergraduate and graduate students to receive credit through the Anthropology department. Students will work with museum staff under the supervision of IU faculty to gain real-world experience working within a museum.
For information on upcoming practicum offerings, please email Associate Director of Research Fumi Arakawa at farakawa@iu.edu.
