2025 IU Archaeology Field School
New Mexico - Twin Pines Village in the Gila National Forest
Dates: May 17 through June 27, 2025
Cost: $1800 fee plus 6 credit hours tuition
Limited to 17 students
Lead by Dr. Fumi Arakawa, IUMAA Associate Director of Research, students can participate in a field school this summer in southern New Mexico. Students will conduct test excavations at a pithouse/classic Mimbres site (AD 550-1130) in Gila National Forest; participate in all phases of archaeological field work including test excavation, mapping, and in-field analysis; camp overnight at the Beaverhead Work Center; and earn credits in ANTH-X480 (undergrad) or ANTH-A595 (graduate).
